With a growing interest in Buddhist philosophy more and more related communities are formed in Hungary. One of the largest and best known of them is the Diamond Way Buddhist Center in Budapest in the 7th district.
In the teachings of the Buddha, the three characteristics of existence are the aniccsa-anattá-dukkha triad, i.e., impermanence, non-self and suffering. Let us look at these and the state of sukkha, or joy. The teachings of the Buddha are about how to get out of the circle of suffering, that is the duḥkha state, and to attain or dwell in the sukkha state, that is, joy.
Attachment is often accompanied by unenjoyable tension. Relieve can be brought by the art of letting go. If we discover and become aware of the negative, painful end result that clings to attachment, the lightness inherent in letting go is also manifested. Relief can be learned through a variety of techniques, be it yoga, meditation, cleaning, sorting.
These complicated geometric figures originated in India, but today we can see them almost everywhere. e.g. as decoration on walls of many of the best yoga studios in Budapest, in coloring books or in calendars. In the Yogayogi office we love mandalas, so we dug a bit deeper in their history and meaning.
